Kvadrat was established in Denmark in the 1960s. Kvadrat A/S, the headquarters, has always been located in Ebeltoft, Denmark. Kvadrat is owned and managed by the two families Rasmussen and Byriel. The second generation took over in July 2000.
Kvadrat develop and market design-led textiles for use as upholstery and curtains in the contract market and selected retail markets. Kvadrat has moved from being a regional player in Scandinavia to become No.1 in Europe. In the last 10 years Kvadrat has tripled its annual turnover.

Textiles make an impression and create atmosphere, they influence our perception of furniture and space. When we interact with furniture, upholstery completes the experience. Curtains can transform rooms, they influence light and acoustics. Kvadrat is attuned to the appearance and function of textiles to create a product that takes part in and influences design culture today.
